Until now, the winter has been relatively mild in Luxembourg, but it is expected to see its real face these days. The week started with intensive snowfalls that lead to some difficulties in driving.
Around 75% of the country’s workforce is made up of cross-border workers. These workers commute to Luxembourg every day, mostly by car, and represent a significant part of the traffic on the roads. (In 2019, there were 200,721 cross-border workers employed in the Grand Duchy, of which 52% came from France, 24% from Belgium, and 24%.) Therefore, it is pretty critical that the roads are cleaned, especially the motorways, to ensure the safety and mobility of these workers and residents.
However, winter is not only a challenge, but also a beauty in Luxembourg. The snow-covered landscapes offer a wonderful sight for nature lovers and photographers. The winter offers its beautiful pictures in the forest that invites amateur photographers to use their camera.
Luxembourg has many forests and natural parks, such as the Mullerthal Region, the Upper Sûre Nature Park, and the Our Nature Park, where you can enjoy the tranquility and the scenery of the winter season.
