Euromeet: The Road From a Regional Swimming Competition to an International Event

This weekend, Luxembourg hosted the 24th edition of the Euromeet, an international swimming competition that attracts some of the best swimmers in the world.

The event took place at the Aquatic Center of d’Coque, a modern and multifunctional venue that offers a 50m competition pool, a 50m training pool, and a 25m warm-up pool.

The Euromeet is not only a prestigious and exciting event, but also a qualifying event for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. More than 500 swimmers from 90 clubs and nearly 30 countries competed in various disciplines and distances, aiming to achieve the Olympic standards and secure their tickets to Paris.

The Euromeet has a long and rich history, as it started in 1998 as a small regional meeting. Since then, it has grown to become one of the most important and popular swimming events in Europe, attracting many Olympic and world champions, such as Katinka Hosszu, Sarah Sjostrom, Adam Peaty, and Caeleb Dressel.
