The light house in the city of Sète, France is a beautiful example of this type of buildings. It has a long history as its construction started around 1680 and it still stands proudly at the end of the Saint Louis jetty that forms the entrance of the marina harbour.
Today it continues to use its red light to signal the entrance to the channel, and it is now open to the public.
