The Volksgarten (People’s Garden) is one of the big parks in the very centre of Vienna. The park was built over the city fortifications that were destroyed by Napoleon and it was opened to the public in 1823.
The park, in the direct neighbourhood of the most beautiful buildings of the city, is famous for its beautiful rose gardens with over 3,000 rose bushes.
