The city of Grasse on the French Riviera, with its fifty-thousand inhabitants, is considered the world’s capital of perfume.
The city has had a prospering perfume industry since the 18th century and still today over two-thirds of France’s natural aromas is produced in the city thanks to its special microclimate.
Three perfume factories offer tours and demonstrations, but the charming streets and buildings of the city are also worth a visit.
Tourism and perfume is my photo of the day.
