The Upper Sûre Lake is a large reservoir of drinking water in north-western Luxembourg near Esch-sur-Sûre.
It was created in the 1950s to meet Luxembourg’s drinking water. The artificial lake is some 10 kilometres long and makes a surface area of 3.8 km2 which is about 0.15% of Luxembourg’s total area. This is the view from the top of the main dam.
